As we celebrate world environment day. Let us recall the serendipitous discovery of tea. In the midst of nature during a journey break green tea was first discovered when Chinese Emperor Shennong mistakenly drank water that had a fallen tea leaf boiled in it, the flavor incredibly refreshing and thus, a new beverage was created. One, which for centuries would be hidden from the world. And as we progress, in addition to its versatile flavours, many health discoveries are taking place due to its high number of antioxidants. It appears that the more we learn about this amazing tea, the more impressive and beneficial it is as a beverage.

In our endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint, we are doing our bit by assimilating and sequestrating atmospheric carbon dioxide. With our average carbon sequestration estimated at 5.98 megagram per hectare per year across the plantations. This means the tea plantation lock down close to 6000 kg per hectare per year of carbon in our biomass.
